Privacy Policy
Key'ndergarten Teacher Toolbox · Effective October 5, 2026
This policy explains what personal information the Key'ndergarten Teacher Toolbox app for iPad (the "App") and the related online service at https://keyndergarten.app (together, the "Service") collect, why, and what choices you have.
Who we are
The Service is provided by Deniz Wong, 148 Horton Street, Fall River, MA 02723, USA ("we", "us"). Questions about privacy: info@keyndergarten.com.
Who the App is for
The App is made for piano teachers. Children may play the activities on the teacher's iPad during a lesson, but the App never asks for, records or stores any information about children — no names, photos, voice recordings or locations. The App is not directed at children, and an account may only be created by an adult.
What we collect
Account information. First and last name, email address, an optional school or studio name, your chosen avatar, the date you accepted our terms, and your password (stored only as a secure hash). If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive an Apple user ID, an email address (possibly a private relay address) and your name if you choose to share it; we also keep an encrypted Apple token so that we can revoke the connection when you delete your account. If you use Sign in with Google, we receive your Google account ID, email address and name.
Your settings and saved items. Favorite activities, saved activity setups and your sound setting, so they are available on every iPad you sign in on.
Usage information. Each time an activity is opened, the App records which activity it was, when it started and ended, the setup that was chosen, how often "New set" or "Reset" was used, how many tasks were solved, and the platform and app version. This information is linked to your account. We use it to understand which activities are used and to improve them.
Subscription status. Whether you are in a free trial or have an active or expired subscription, the plan and the renewal or expiry date. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple; we never receive your payment details.
Technical information. When the App talks to our servers, our servers log the IP address, time and request for security and troubleshooting. Your sign-in is tied to a device name (for example "Denise's iPad") so you can recognise your devices.

What we do not do
- We do not show ads and do not sell or rent personal information.
- We do not use third-party analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not share usage information with anyone for their own purposes.
How we use information
To create and run your account and keep your settings in sync; to provide the subscription and free trial; to send messages you need, such as password reset links; to understand and improve the activities; to keep the Service secure and prevent abuse; and to meet legal obligations.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we rely on these legal bases: performance of our contract with you (account, sync, subscription), our legitimate interest in improving the activities and keeping the Service secure, and compliance with legal obligations.
Service providers
We use a small number of providers who process information only on our behalf and under our instructions:
- netcup GmbH (Germany) — hosting. Our servers and databases are located in Germany.
- Brevo (Sendinblue SAS) (France) — sending service emails such as password reset links.
- RevenueCat, Inc. (USA) — managing subscription status for App Store purchases.
- Apple — App Store purchases and Sign in with Apple, under Apple's own privacy policy.
- Google — Sign in with Google, if you choose it, under Google's own privacy policy.
Where information is transferred between countries (for example between the EU and the USA), we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep information
- Account information, settings and saved items: as long as your account exists.
- Usage information: in detailed form for 24 months; after that it is combined into daily totals per activity that are no longer linked to any person, and the detailed records are deleted.
- Server logs: a few weeks at most.
- Backups: overwritten on a rolling basis within six months.
Your choices and rights
- Update your name, school and avatar in the App under Profile.
- Delete your account in the App (Profile → Delete account) or on the web at https://keyndergarten.app/account/delete. This permanently deletes your account, settings, saved items, usage information and subscription records, removes you from RevenueCat and revokes Sign in with Apple. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription — cancel it in your iPad's Settings under your Apple ID → Subscriptions.
- Request a copy of your information, or ask us to correct or delete it, by writing to info@keyndergarten.com.
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you also have the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. If you are a California resident: we do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA, and you may request access to or deletion of your information as described above. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
Security
Connections to our servers are encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are stored only as secure hashes, sign-in tokens can be revoked at any time, and access to our systems is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify affected users of a breach where required by law.
Changes
We may update this policy. We will change the date above and, for important changes, let you know in the App or by email before they take effect.
